Winter Solstice with Ajay Rajani and Teresa Reid

Join Ajay Rajani and Teresa Reid for this special
movement offering in honor of Winter Solstice!

Communally celebrating the turning of the seasons is part of a current that has rung throughout time all across the world. When we come together in this way we tap into the rhythm of interconnection...with nature, the seasons, the cycles of life, and with one another. The practice of Conscious Dance supports these rhythms and transitions, quiets the mind and helps us listen to the currents that are guiding us, step by step, season by season.

Winter is a potent and magical time to reflect on what is most Life serving…to renew our visions, both personal and collective…and to hold each dream with loving kindness and care. Guided by the 5Rhythms and the Open Floor Movement Practice, these two seasoned teachers are co.creating an experiential event that will support you in attuning to the magic of the season and the rhythm of your own life!

About Ajay
Ajay Rajani is an accredited 5Rhythms teacher who trained with Jonathan Horan, son of Gabrielle Roth, in 2014. Born in Africa with Indian roots and raised in London, Ajay thrives in a diverse, multicultural community speaking five international languages. His spiritual journey began over a decade ago with a strong practice of seated meditation which continues to inform his teachings. He is an inspiring teacher who encourages movers to embody each moment, allowing the body to be our greatest teacher.

About Teresa
Teresa Reid is the visionary and steward of Rooted and Rising. She serves individuals and communities by weaving her love of dance, somatic inquiry, earth based wisdom, and whole systems healing into simple yet powerful explorations of embodied emergence. Certified to teach several conscious dance practices, Teresa has had the honor to train with Samantha Sweetwater (Dancing Freedom); Andrea Juhan, Kathy Altman, Lori Saltzman, and Vic Cooper (Open Floor International); Daphne Lowell and Alton Wasson (Authentic Movement). They, amongst many others, inform, inspire, and uphold the work.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Ajay and Teresa share nearly two decades of personal practice + thousands of hours facilitating conscious dance for hundreds of movers across the USA and Europe. Together these seasoned teachers are co.creating a unique experience that weaves their shared love of conscious dance + ritual in community.

Our time together will be split into 2 segments with a 30 minute break in between. One segment will offer a rich 5Rhythm wave to awaken your body and bring you into your present tense experience. Another segment will be loosely based on the Open Floor Meditation Cycle and the Open Circle whereby participants will be invited to ritualize their intentions and enliven their visions at this potent time of year. There will be ample time throughout the afternoon to dance in solitude, connect with others as desired, move freely and explore following the guidance of the facilitator.
